Client – Client Meeting – 2026.03.25
Steel Detailing And Staircase
Jeff has signed off on original design intent for steel detailing — confirmed this morning
Renderings from the living room perspective helped secure approval
Steve has questions for Monday regarding the door downstairs
Peter to complete flange and steel for staircase — estimated one week, material already in hand
Steel sign-off frees up masonry crew to move from hallway to staircase
Fireplace Doors
Peter provided pricing for fireplace doors — to be submitted to Jeff
Jeff is expecting this as an add — previously discussed
Mesh used in fireplace door sample is from Rust-Oleum — same mesh to be used in laundry room cabinetry
Metal mesh sample is currently at the office — Peter can retrieve if needed
Glass Channel And Shower Track
Key question is whether to recess the channel or surface-mount on the circle — Brett to follow up with Fernando
Downstairs bypass is confirmed surface-mounted — no recess required
Tile can proceed on floors before channels are installed, but not on curves and vertical elements where glass makes contact
Channel decision should not affect overall timeline
Inset Panel Finish
Finish for inset panels: brushed nickel preferred — soft, not shiny
If no cost or lead time challenge, match finish to rest of hardware
Stock anodized aluminum acceptable if needed to keep schedule
Structural Beams And Solarium
Beam samples: half received, remaining half arriving by Friday — to be reviewed Wednesday
Previous box beam sample was rejected due to poor color and insufficient texture contrast
New samples expected to be close enough to approve and move forward
Box beam with veneer remains the preferred and safest path for columns, headers, hallway corridor, and mudroom
Staining Douglas fir in place to match white oak was explored but rejected — too labor-intensive, unpredictable color result, and schedule risk
Solarium Structure
Solarium structural beams confirmed: can be sanded and chiseled — structural engineer approved up to 1/16" removal
Design intent: sand smooth and paint to match existing window package (black or matching window color)
Goal is for solarium structure to read as part of the window system, not a separate element
Painter to select color match — client to review and approve
Cabinet Finish Sample
Cabinet sample needed by Wednesday for painter to match finish
Reagan to set out sample — client arriving Wednesday morning
Sample to be cut in half so client retains a control piece
Door and trim color sample currently being produced — to be ready by Wednesday
Tile And Drains
Drains arriving Friday — tile crew to begin packing shower pans and prep work
Tile work on bathroom floors has not yet started — not currently threatening project schedule
Plan remains to install bathroom cabinetry before floor tile — no reason to change this sequence at this time
Wood Floors And Masonry
Wood floor installation timeline being coordinated around labor availability, drywall and paint sequence, and masonry sequence
Wood floor must acclimate on site for approximately two weeks before installation
Stone masonry in hallway and living room has not started — steel sign-off now allows crew to proceed from hallway to staircase efficiently
Drywall And Texture
Currently in second coat of mud — building corners and preparing to sand
Texture expected to begin shortly — good progress anticipated by Wednesday
Stone Slabs
Client hopes to select slabs on Monday — will need fabricator contact and shipping address
Slab yards to be visited: local LA yards
Brett to confirm process with fabricator — owner-provided slabs have been done with this fabricator before without issue
Some slab yards may require a fabricator as the buyer — Brett to confirm and be available Monday as intermediary if needed
Brett to provide fabricator contact and delivery address to client before Monday
Art Storage
Client sent email to Jeff this morning regarding art storage — awaiting response
Action Items Summary
Brett: follow up with Fernando on glass channel recess vs. surface-mount question
Brett: send fireplace door pricing to Jeff
Brett: confirm slab purchasing process with fabricator and provide contact and address to client
Brett: be available Monday as intermediary for slab selection if needed

Reagan: set out cabinet finish sample for Wednesday meeting
Kevin: bring beam samples for review Wednesday
Kevin: cut cabinet sample in half — client to retain control piece
